Message Listing |
|
The first page displayed after you log in is the Inbox Message Listing (Figure 1). All messages contained in your Inbox (or other folder, if you switch folders) will be listed in sortable columns: Subject, From, Date, and Size. From here you can mark messages as read, delete messages, move or copy them to another folder, or cause one to be displayed in the Message View.

If you are pooling mail from multiple POP mailboxes, you can choose to color-code them according to the mailbox from which they were collected. See Mailboxes for help on collecting from multiple mailboxes and color-coding messages. |

Folder
Status Bar
At the top of
the Message Listing is the Folder Status
bar. This bar lists:
The folder currently displayed in the Message Listing.
Total number of messages in the folder.
Number of unread messages in the folder.
Number of unread messages in each of your other folders.
Number
of Messages Listed
The number of
messages that will be listed in the Message Listing is determined by
the value designated in the List Messages Per Page control of the Personalize
section of Options . You can page through the list of messages by
using the controls located on the top right of the Message Listing.
Click the left button to move to the first page of the listing, the
right button to move to the last page, and the two center buttons to
move one page at a time.
Checking
Your Email
As long as you
are signed in, WorldClient Pro will automatically check your
mailbox(es) for new messages and update the Message Listing at a
prescribed time interval. You can set the interval on the Personalize
page - reached by clicking
Options
on the Navigation bar. You can also manually check for new messages
at any time by clicking
Get
Mail or
.
To designate the mailbox(es) from which your mail will be collected, click the Options button and then Mailboxes.
Message
Status Icons
Contained in the
Message Listing is a column that is used for displaying a Status icon
next to each entry. There are five icons that can be displayed in
this column:

This icon will be displayed next to New messages. These are messages that are unread and were collected by WorldClient Pro at (or since) login. |
|
Signifies that a message is Unread. These are messages that were collected some time in the past (not since login) but haven't yet been read. |
|
Signifies that you have Replied to the message. |
|
Messages that you have Forwarded will have this icon displayed. |
|
These are Urgent or High Priority messages. |
When an entry's Status icon column is left blank, that means that the message has been Read and doesn't match any other Status icon criteria.
Folder
Selection box
The Folder
Selection box is used when switching to new folders, and when moving
or copying messages to other folders. Click the arrow on the right
side of this drop-down list box to display a list of all available
folders. Beside each folder name is the current message count for
each folder. The first number is the total number of messages in that
folder. The second number tells how many of those messages remain unread.
This control does not exist in the Globe Theme.
Switching
to Another Folder
To switch to
another folder:
Click the folder name on the Navigation bar.

In Standard Theme:
Click the arrow beside the Folder Selection list box in the main frame.
Click the desired folder from the drop-down list that will appear.
Click Switch Folders.
Selecting
Messages
Select a message
for deleting, moving to another folder, or marking as read by
clicking the checkbox beside the message(s) that you wish to select.
You can select
all messages at once by clicking Select
All or
on the Message Listing's toolbar or X
or
above the column of checkboxes. You can Deselect
All by clicking any of these options a second time.
Note |
When you have manually selected one or more message, the Select All and X controls will invert your selections. Any selected messages will be deselected and vice versa. |
Moving
Messages
To move one or
more messages to another folder:
In Standard Theme:
Select the message(s) that you wish to move.
Click the arrow beside the Folder Selection list box.
Click the desired folder from the drop-down list that will appear.
Click Move Selected.
In Globe Theme:
Select the message(s) that you wish to move.
Click
on the Message Listing toolbar.
The Folder Destination control will appear. Click the arrow beside the list box and then choose the desired folder to which you wish to move the message(s).
Click the Move button.
Copying
Messages
To copy one or
more messages to another folder:
In Standard Theme:
Select the message(s) that you wish to copy to another folder.
Click the arrow beside the Folder Selection list box in the main frame.
Click the desired folder from the drop-down list that will appear.
Click Copy Selected.
In Globe Theme:
Select the message(s) that you wish to copy.
Click
on the Message Listing toolbar.
The Folder Destination control will appear. Click the arrow beside the list box and then choose the desired folder to which you wish to copy the message(s).
Click the Copy button.

Deleting
Messages
To delete one or
more messages from the Message
Listing:
Select the message(s) that you wish to delete.
Click Delete

on the Message Listing toolbar.

In
order to protect you from accidentally deleting messages, they will
be moved to the Trash folder
rather than immediately deleted. Messages can be permanently deleted
by switching to the Trash
folder and following the Delete
procedure, or clicking |
Marking
Messages as Read
To "Mark
as Read"
one or more messages on the Message
Listing:
Select the message(s) that you wish to "Mark as Read".
Click Mark
as Read
or
on the Message Listing toolbar.
Marking
Messages as Unread
To "Mark
as Unread"
one or more messages on the Message
Listing:
Select the message(s) that you wish to "Mark as Unread".
Click
on the Message Listing toolbar.
Note: This control does not exist in the Standard Theme.
Sorting
the Message Listing
You can sort the
Message Listing by Subject, From
(Sender), Date, or Size
in either ascending or descending order. The default column and order
by which the Listing is sorted can be specified on the Personalize page
in Options.
To sort the Message Listing:
Click the heading of the column by which you wish to sort the Listing: Subject, From, Date, Size. The Listing will by sorted by that column in ascending order from A to Z, 1 to 2, January to December.
Click the same heading a second time to change the sort order to descending from Z to A, 2 to 1, December to January.
Sorting by Mailbox
Standard Theme:
To sort the Message Listing by Mailbox (see Mailbox Colors below):
Click Sort Message Listing by Mailbox at the bottom of the Message Listing.
Messages will now be grouped by Mailbox Color and sorted by Date in descending order.
Globe Theme:
Click a Mailbox on the Navigation bar and only messages belonging to that Mailbox will be displayed in the Message Listing.
Mailbox
Colors
WorldClient
can be set to collect mail from any number of additional POP
mailboxes to which you have access. For example, you may have
separate email accounts for home and work but wish to collect mail
from both at once. When you have set up WorldClient to collect mail
from multiple mailboxes (on the Mailboxes
page in
Options),
the messages will be displayed in rows with differing background
colors (also designated on the Mailboxes
page). In
the Standard Theme, the Mailbox
Color Legend
below the Message
Listing
reminds you what colors you have assigned to each mailbox name. In
the Globe Theme, each Mailbox link on the Navigation bar will be
appear in the color that has been assigned to its corresponding Mailbox.
Searching
the Message Listing
You can search
the Message Listing for messages in which the To, From, or Subject
header contains a specific word or phrases by using the
Search Tool on the Message Listing's toolbar. Click
, type the word or phrase for which you are searching, and then click OK.
Now only those messages containing the text exactly as you typed it
will be listed in the Message Listing. Searches are not
case sensitive and all of the Message Listing's pages will be
searched, not just those on the currently displayed page. There are
six special characters that may not be searched for: & # % + <
>. Searching for these characters will have unpredictable results.
